Members of the Canadian Electrical Recycling Association (CESA) recently voted in favour of a plan to amalgamate CESA’s operations in British Columbia with the Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA).
The CESA Board of Directors made the decision to support an amalgamation with EPRA based on a thorough review of CESA’s operations and careful consideration of all avenues for delivering the optimal service to its members. The board determined that amalgamation with EPRA is the most efficient and effective way to deliver the program for CESA members.
The board confirmed the results of the membership vote on June 19. The amalgamation will take effect on October 1, 2024. Going forward from this date, EPRA will provide compliance and program administration for small appliances and other products currently handled by CESA. Until then, operations remain status quo – for members reporting and remittance all the way through collection and processing.
As more information is available about the transition, it will be shared in a timely manner with all of our stakeholders.
Any questions regarding the amalgamation should be directed to Laura Selanders, President, CESA at lselanders@cesarecycling.ca
